Can you offer us some jewellery tips, taking our collection from day to evening wear with ease?

I always propose to my clients that layering jewellery is best and also, wear jewellery that can either add or remove elements. This makes it more elaborate for the evening, or with less elements for day wear.

How do you recommend looking after jewellery?

Always keep jewellery in individual pouches and boxes. Don’t throw all your jewellery together in a box, because this way you will damage the stones and scratch the metal. If you have pearls make sure they are in a natural coloured pouch because pearls are a live organism and will pick up on the colour of the pouch, if it is red for example that would be disastrous.

What do you enjoy most about the trunk shows at Ancienne Ambiance?

I like the relaxed atmosphere, the positive vibes and meeting new clients.

It’s always a pleasure being at the Ancienne Ambiance boutique because the clients that come to see the jewellery are already curious and ready to be dazzled by the jewels. Not forgetting, seduced by the amazing smells!

When you have some time out, where’s your favourite place to go in London?

My favourite place in London is a small boutique hotel called Durrants in Marylebone that has a great afternoon tea and the décor is cosy like a living room.

Are you currently noticing any particular jewellery trends?

I noticed a lot of jewellery designers are using colour and coloured stones at the moment.

Also, it is very trendy to go over the top, embracing maximalism. Think big earrings, big bracelets and an overflow of colour and stones. Although, I have to admit, they’re not my favourite style.

What is your inspiration for upcoming collections into Autumn and Winter?

My inspiration for the next season is the deep greens and orange colours from a trip to Sicily and a beautiful orange grove. I think this combination with emeralds, peridot, aventurine, cornelian, fire opals and vitrines is going to be my palette for next season.
