A little history… Used as a gem in Ancient Greece as far back as 300 BC, Citrine is a yellow variety of Quartz ranging in colour from pale to golden yellow, honey or almost brown. The name comes from the French word citron, meaning ‘lemon’. Believed to carry the power of the sun, it is warm, comforting and energising. Rock Crystal was given its name by ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus – derived from the Greek ‘crystallos’. Believed to embolden its wearer and remove stress, the Romans loved to use Rock Crystal for making jewellery. The Ancient Greeks believed that the Gods only drank ambrosia and nectar from Crystal goblets.
