A little history… From Ancient Mesopotamia to Egypt, Greece and Rome, snake jewellery symbolised royalty, divine protection, healing, immortality and eternal love. The tubogas style is a 20th Century creation with origins from Ancient Rome, where similar techniques were used to create “snake chains” – the first examples of which were likely flexible gold bangles that could be worn on the arm, evoking the coils of a snake.
